Medina girls rally to edge Albion

Coming from behind in the late innings, Medina trimmed rival Albion 8-6 in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game this afternoon at Vets Park.

Trailing 5-1, Medina got back into the game by scoring three times in the fifth inning as Hannah Kenward had an RBI single.

The Mustangs then took the lead for good at 8-5 by scoring four times in the sixth as Miriam Fike and Kenward both had doubles and Brionna Raiser-Russell  and Brooklyn Brown singles.

Albion took a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning as Faith Woody had a double.

Medina is now 4-3 and Albion 4-4.

Roy-Hart 10, Newfane 0

Roy-Hart improved to 5-3 by blanking Newfane 10-0 as Reanna Perkins pitched a one hitter with 18 strikeouts.

Molly Russell, Shelby Wolf, Ellie James and Juliana Buscarino each had a pair of hits for the Lady Rams.  Wolf’s hits included a triple and James’ a double.

Akron 10, Barker 1

Front-running Akron stayed perfect at 8-0 with a 10-1 win over Barker.
