Medina girls post win over Roy-Hart

Improving to 7-3 in the league, Medina posted a 54-37 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this evening in a Niagara-Orleans girls contest.

Camri King, Maddie Williams and Tyesha Robinson  each scored 13 for Medina as Kharise Johnson added 8 and Jarielys Flores-Medina 7.

Lexie Lovwell scored 11, Meghan Washington 8, Maddie Fry 7 and Shelby Wolf 6 for Roy-Hart.

Roy-Hart grabbed a slender 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter on a last second three by Fry. Lovewell had 6 in the period for the Lady Rams while Williams had 7 for the Mustangs.

However, Medina rallied into leads of 26-19 at the half and 46-30 at the three-quarter mark. Robinson scored 9 in the second period while King had 9 and Flores-Medina 7 in the big 20 point third quarter.

Wilson 45, Albion 31
Undefeated (11-0) Wilson locked up sole possession of a ninth N-O championship in the last 10 years with a 45-31 victory at runner-up Albion (6-2).

Skylar Munnikhuysen scored 15, Izzy Dinse 10 and Anna Frerichs 7 for Wilson which led 24-14 at the half.

Kirsten Struble scored 9 for Albion as Lexi Wolck and Natalie Lathrop both added 7.

Albion did close to within one early in the final period but Wilson answered with a key 10-0 run to lockup the win.

Munnikhuysen scored 7 and Frerichs 4 in the finals stanza for Wilson.

In the other N-O game, Akron (4-4) downed Newfane (2-7) 50-35.
