Medina girls post win over Kendall

Building up a commanding 21 point half-time advantage. Medina went on to defeat host Kendall 47-26 this evening in a non league girls basketball game.

Je’ne Brown scored 16 and Molley Gross 13 to lead the way for Medina which is now 1-1 on the young season. Brown also had 12 rebounds and 2 blocks and Gross 8 rebounds.

Maddie Williams added 6 points for the Mustangs as Maddie Winters and Allison Bensley both chipped in with 4 and Holly Heil 2.

Maya Rutland and Daniela Volkmar both scored 6 for Kendall as Bridget Miller added 4, Taylor ReQua and Taylor Rutland 3, Rachael Bakutis and Emily Mattle 2 and Lizzie Rath 1.

Brown scored 11 in the opening quarter to spark Medina out to a 15-3 lead.

Winters, Bensley and Gross then each had a pair of baskets in the second period to help boost the Mustangs advantage to 28-7 at the half.

Medina maintained a 34-17 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

The Mustangs next visit Global Concepts on Tuesday.
