Medina girls edge Albion in N-O return

Making a sparkling return to Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer competition, Medina edged rival Albion 2-1 at Vets Park this afternoon.

Rylee VanNostrand scored both goals in the first half for Medina which had played as a merged team with Lyndonville in the Genesee Region League the last four years.

Samantha Baisinait scored the goal for Albion as all of the scoring took place in the first half.

Holley 3, Oakfield/Elba 2
Holley downed Oakfieled-Alabama/Elba 3-2 in a Genesee Region League game as Emma Brady scored 2 goals and Ella Thom 1. Jailyn Bishop had 2 assists and Thom 1 for the Lady Hawks.

In another G-R contest, Byron-Bergen blanked Kendall 7-0.

Lockport Tournament

Roy-Hart edged Starpoint 5-4 in the semifinals of the Lockport Tournament.
