Medina girls earn first victory
Gaining that elusive first victory of the season, Medina downed visiting Buffalo Academy of Science 49-16 this evening in a non league game.
Anya Bloom scored 10 to lead Medina’s balanced attack as Julie Porter, Nodia Osby, Anna Cruz-Rabb and Janiyah Holloway 6, Gracie Hughes 5 and Lujain Aldroobe and Gracie Cogovan 4.
Medina jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter advantage and went on to hold leads of 20-8 at the half and 35-10 at the three-quarter mark.
Holloway scored 6 in the third period and Porter 6 in the final stanza.
The Mustangs next host Akron at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
