Medina duo earns All State lacrosse honors

Two Medina High players, Jake Cotter and Brendan Luthart, have been named to the All State lacrosse squad.

Cotter, a June graduate who has accepted a lacrosse scholarship to Canisius College, and Luthart, who will be a senior this fall, have both been selected to the fifth team on the All State small schools squad.

Cotter scored a team high 69 goals and added 12 assists this past season.  He finishes his varsity career as the Mustangs career goal scoring leader with 199 and 43 assists.

Luthart scored 55 goals and had a team high 34 assists this season increasing his career totals to 108 goals and 65 assists.

Both players previously earned all-Western New York honors.

Section VI Class D champion Akron also had a pair of players on the All-State small schools squad in Owen Hill on the first team and Weylon Abrams on the fourth team.
