Medina downs Roy-Hart in N-O field hockey

Jumping out to a 3-1 half-time lead, Medina went on to defeat Roy-Hart 5-1 in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game at Vets Park this evening.

Penelope Schalck scored two goals and Baileigh McAdoo, Alex Strong and Iyla Lilleby each had one to lead the Mustangs to their fifth straight win overall.

Samantha Sperduti scored the goal for Roy-hart.

Medina is now 4-2 in the league and 5-2 overall and Roy-Hart is 3-3 in N-O action.

In the other games, Barker defeated Newfane 8-0 and Akron jumped out to an 8-0 half-time lead over Kenmore in route to a 17-0 win.

Mia Herman, Kaedynce Schumacher and Alexa Zglinicki each scored two goals for Barker and Petra Bish and Miya Goodale each added one.

N-O Standings: Akron 5-0, Barker 5-1, Medina 4-2, Roy-Hart 3-3, Kenmore 2-4, Newfane 1-5, Wilson 0-5.

Medina’s Addison Taylor brings the ball up the sideline as Madison Kelley comes in to defend for Roy-Hart.
