Medina downs Newfane in N-O field hockey
Leading by a narrow 1-0 margin at the half, Medina pulled away down the stretch to defeat Newfane 8-1 in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this afternoon at Vets Park.
Iyla Lilleby scored five goals for Medina as Alex Strong, Lydia Fox and Baileigh McAdoo each netted one. Penelope Schalck had two assists.
Medina is now 5-4 and Newfane 1-8.
In the other N-O contest, Akron (8-0) downed Barker (7-2) 4-0.
