Medina Colts win in OT

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – The Medina Colts nipped Oakfield-Elba 7-6 in overtime Saturday at Vets Park on a score by Iverson Poole.

Capping off a 9-1 regular season, the Medina Colts scored rain soaked 7-6 win over Oakfield-Elba Saturday at Vets Park in a Niagara Orleans Football Association Mini Division game.

Iverson Poole scored the touchdown and extra point for the Colts in OT.

The two teams will now meet again the playoff semifinals at 1 am. Saturday at Vets Park. Akron will face Newfane in the other Mini semi at 9 a.m.

Mini Division

Albion 20, Attica 6
Jahmeek Riley had 115 yards rushing, including a two yard touchdown run, and Amari Jones 112 yards, including TD runs of 40 and 39 yards, to lead Albion past Attica 20-6.

Jacob Hughson added 27 yards, Shakarion Drisdom 14, Chris Porter 7 and Michael White 4 as Albion finishes the season at 6-4.

On defense, Porter made 11 tackles, Zach Olles and Javon Jones 8, Amari Jones and Riley 6 and Jabari Johnson 5.

JV Division

Albion 30, Attica 13
Albion completed a 9-1 regular season by downing Attica 30-13 as Briliance Johnson had 154 yards offense, including a 39 yard touchdown run, Deyonci Farley 48 yards, including a one yard TD, DeShawn Grace a 36 yard touchdown run, Mehkyron Drisdom a 20 yard TD reception from Thomas Furmanski and Furmanski a 28 yard TD catch from Kevin Hillman.

Defensively, James Denoncourt, Kyle Hughson and Rylend Callicutt each made 4 tackles and Farley, Hillman and Grace 3. Drisdom also had a fumble recovery.

Albion will now face Batavia and Newfane will take on Pembroke in the playoff semifinals Saturday at Vets Park.

Oakfield-Elba 19, Medina Broncos 6
Brian Fry scored the lone touchdown for the Medina Broncos.

Varsity Division

The semifinals of the playoffs at Vets Park Saturday will have Akron vs. Albion and Pembroke vs. Batavia.
