Medina Colts, Albion JV squads post wins

The Medina Colts blanked Attica 20-0 Saturday at Vets Park to improve to 6-0 in the Mini Division of the Niagara Orleans Football Association.

Iverson Poole scored two touchdowns and Xandra Payne threw a scoring pass to Jarin Rhm to lead the way for the Colts. Poole and Aiden Pitts also both scored extra points.

Interceptions by Poole and Rashawn Bloom highlighted the defensive effort.

The Albion JV Eagles edged past Oakfield/Elba 14-12 to go to 5-1 as Brilliance Johnson had a 1 yard touchdown run and Thomas Furmanski threw a scoring pass to Kevin Hillman. Furmanski also completed a big two-point conversion pass to Anthony Freeman.

Johnson had 43 yards rushing, Deyonci Farley 40 and Elijah Lloyd 34 while Hillman had 34 receiving.

On defense, Farley and Damion Lattimer made 8 tackles, Xavier Cornick 5 and Byrce Kelly, Mehkyron Drisdom, Hillman and Freeman 3. Kelly also had a sack and n interception and DeShawn Grace 2 sacks.

The Medina Broncos dropped a narrow 18-13 decision to Attica. Zach Blount ran for one touchdown and passed to Tyler Chinn for another. Chinn also had an extra point.

The Albion Mini Eagles likewise dropped a narrow 6-0 decision to Oakfield/Elba.
Amari Jones had 88 yards rushing and Jahmeek Riley 57.

Defensively, Amari Jones had 8 tackles, Jacob Hughson 5, Jabari Hohnson 4, Javon Jones 4 and Jonathan Judd, Zachary Olles and Chris Porter 3. Amari Jones, Javon Jones and Porter all had fumble recoveries and Olles a sack.

There were no Varsity Divison games as Attica and Oakfield/Elba do not have teams in that division.
