Medina claimed AnJo diamond crown in ’86

Contributed Photo – Medina captured top honors in the Lockport AnJo League in 1986 by sweeping a pair of games from Roy-Hart in the playoff finals by scores of 4-3 in 9 innings and 9-5.  In the decisive second game Medina rallied from deficits of 4-0 and 5-1 finally taking the lead for good with five runs in the sixth inning as Jerry Shaffer had a two-run single and Jody Sargent a two-run sacrifice. B.J. Stoddard had a total of three hits in the game as Gordy Luthart, Brian Fuller, Paul Valley and Carl Creasey each added two. Luthart, Fuller, Shaffer and Jim Snyder all had doubles. The Medina lineup included, in front, Snyder, Valley, Robert Grimes, Stoddard and Creasey. In back are Coach Aaron Newson, Fuller, Chris Bacon, Luthart, Sargent, Shaffer and Coach Bruce Campbell.
