Medina claimed ’88 Midget ‘A’ diamond title

Contributed Photo – Medina captured the Lockport Midget ‘A’ League playoff championship in 1988 by sweeping a pair of games from Newfane. Medina won the first game 18-0 and then earned the decisive title clinching win by a much closer 6-2 margin. Medina broke away from a 2-2 tie by scoring three runs in the fifth inning on an error and RBI singles by Ken Snyder and Mason Moore. Hits by Jim Snyder and Bruce Blanchard helped to set up the threat. Ron Green, Jim Snyder, Blanchard, Chris Hayes and Ken Snyder each finished with two hits. The Medina squad included, in front, Russ Beyer, Todd Reimer, Fred Poole, Randy Castricone, Ken Snyder and Mason Moore. In back are Coach Bob Beyer, Jim Snyder, Bruce Blanchard, Chris Hayes, Jody Sargent, Richie Beyer, Ron Green and Coach Bret Johnson. Missing from the photo is Wayne Meland.
