Medina boys win; Albion bows in N-O X-C

Medina defeated visiting Wilson 17-44 this afternoon to improve to 2-0 in Niagara-Orleans League boys cross-country competition.
Cameron Castanon won the race for Medina as his teammates Arian Cayea and Gabe Mark finished second and third.
Al Schultz placed fourth for Wilson which is now 1-2.
The Medina girls won the girls race by disqualification as Wilson’s top four runners took a wrong turn and went off course.
The host Barker boys defeated Albion 25-36 and Akron 20-41 to improve to 2-1. Akron also downed Albion 25-36.
Albion’s Reuben Rivers won the race as his teammate Landin Chaffee finished second.
Akron’s John Chubb placed third followed by the Barker duo of Mason Allee-Castro and Evan Taylor.
In the girls race, Akron defeated Albion 22-38 and Barker 20-37. Barker also nipped Albion 27-28.
Akron’s Lauren Wagner won the race as Albion’s Alanna Holman placed second and Akron’s Kayla Murray third.
The Newfane boys improved to 2-0 by downing Roy-Hart 20-43.
Roy-Hart’s Jay Heideman won the race as the Newfane duo of Nick Baes and Jayden Reynolds placed second and third.
Newfane also downed Roy-Hart 15-50 in the girls race. The Lady Panthers were led by the 1-2-3 finish of Kylie Bowman, Taylor Heschke and Leah Siegmann.
