Medina boys top Akron for first track win

Gaining victory No. 1 on the season in league competition, Medina bested visiting Akron 88-52 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans boys track meet.
Jalin Cooper was a double winner in the 100 and 200 and Dan Heil in the 800 and 1600 for Medina which also got wins from Jack Hill (3200), Porter Bellan (Pole Vault), Connor Miller (400 Hurdles), Trenton Crews (110 Hurdles), Lincoln Pace (High Jump) and Mason Pecoraro (Long Jump).
The Mustangs also won the 400 Relay with the foursome of Pecoraro, Crews, Bellan and Dantea Rhim and the 3200 Relay with the quartet of Hill, Heil, Alden Cayea and Caelon Holland.
Marcus Kenline was a double winner for Akron in the Shotput and Discus.
Medina is now 1-4 and Akron 0-5.
The Akron girls improved to 4-1 with a 122-19 win over Medina (0-5).
Hailey Hall was a triple winner for Akron in the 100 Hurdles, 100 and 200 as Amanda Swader doubled in the Shotput and Discus and Margo Henley in the 400 Hurdles and 1500.
Olivia Carter doubled in the Long Jump and Triple Jump for Medina.
