Medina blanks Newfane to cap N-O season

A fast start offensively combined with a strong pitching performance keyed Medina to a 6-0 win over host Newfane this evening to close out the Niagara-Orleans League baseball season.
The Mustangs took charge at the outset erupting for four quick runs in the first inning highlighted by a big two-run triple by Ryleigh Culver who had 2 hits on the night.
Aidan Paul did the rest on the mound for the Mustangs. He allowed the Panthers just 2 hits and struck out 17. He also helped himself at the plate with 2 hits, including a double, and an RBI.
Medina finishes the N-O season at 8-4 and Newfane at 4-8.
The final N-O game of the season will have Barker vs. Wilson on Thursday.
The Section VI playoff pairings will be announced on Saturday with the postseason slated to begin on Monday.
N-O standings: Akron 11-1, Roy-Hart 9-3, Medina 8-4, Wilson 5-6, Albion 4-8, Newfane 4-8, Barker 0-11.
