Medina blanks Kenmore in N-O field hockey

Regaining the .500 mark at 4-4, Medina blanked Kenmore (1-7) 2-0 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game at Vets Park.

Libby Cook scored what proved to be the game winner for Medina off an assist from Guin Schalck with 12 minutes to go in the first half.

Schalck then tallied an insurance goal just five minutes into the second half.

Alissa Blount earned the shutout in goal for the Mustangs.

Barker 5, Newfane 0
Barker improved to 6-1 with a 5-0 win over Newfane (0-8).

Katrina Clare had the three goal hat-trick to lead the way for Barker which also got goals from Rachel Hurtgam and Sarah Mason.

Jillian Moeller, Natalie Menz and Ciara Gregoire each had an assist.

Cara Fox and Paige Sandolfini shared in earning the shutout in goal.

Barker led 2-0 at the half on goals by Clare and Hurtgam.
