Medina bests Newfane in N-O softball

Improving to 6-2 in the league, Medina posted a 14-4 victory over Newfane in Niagara-Orleans League softball action this afternoon at Vets Park.

Brandi Guild belted a grand slam home run in the third inning to highlight the Medina offense.

Ashlee Howell and Abi Neuman both had a pair of hits for the Mustangs.

Akron 8, Albion 0

Akron (4-2) blanked Albion (1-6) 8-0 as Kendall Derisley had the Purple Eagles lone hit.

In the other N-O contest, Wilson (4-2) downed Barker (1-6) 18-10.

Roy-Hart 3, Sacred Heart 1

Mallory Steiner struck out 10 and Sam Choate and Ashley Hill banged out RBI singles in the second inning to key Roy-Hart to a 3-1 non league win over host Sacred Heart in a non league game which honored the memory of Roy-Hart alum Connor Callaghan.
