Medina and Roy-Hart score wins in Section VI Class C field hockey quarterfinals
Medina and Roy-Hart both scored wins in a Section VI Class C field hockey quarterfinal round doubleheader at Vets Park today.
First, No. 3 Roy-Hart downed No. 6 Newfane 4-0 on goals by Savannah Newton, Brooke Zglinicki, Adella Dukes and Violette Streckwald.
Then No. 4 Medina topped No. 5 Wilson 3-1 on 2 goals by Penelope Schalck and 1 by Emi Batista.
In the day’s other quarterfinal No. 7 Eden upset No. 2 Barker 2-1 at Barker.
Eden scored the game winning goal in the fourth quarter after Barker had tied the game in the third period on a tally by Madilyn Detschner.
Friday’s semifinals will now have Medina vs. top seeded Akron at 5 p.m.at Alden and Roy-Hart vs. Eden at 6 p.m. at Vets Park.
