Medina and Barker score field hockey wins
Medina and Barker both scored road victories this afternoon to improve to 2-0 in Niagara-Orleans League field hockey competition.
Medina defeated Roy-Hart 7-2 and Barker downed Newfane 11-1.
Penelope Schalck scored three goals, Iyla Lilleby two and Sophia Goyette and Emiliana Batista one each to lead the Medina offense. Lilleby also had two assists and Schalck and Brooke Moden one each.
Medina was up by a narrow 2-1 margin at the half as a goal by Cheyenne Stilwell kept Roy-Hart close.
Mia Herman and Alexa Zglinicki both scored three goals to get the pace for Barker as Ashlin Cole, Kiera Dalton, Rachel Sutter, Anna Bowerman and Petra Bish each chipped in with one.
Kylie Hampton scored for Newfane.
In the other N-O game, defending champion Akron blanked host Kenmore 10-0 as Olivia McClaine had 3 goals.
