Medina and Barker cap off N-O field hockey season with wins to tie for second place

Medina and Barker both scored shutout victories today to close out the Niagara-Orleans League field hockey season tied for second place at 9-3.

Medina blanked host Wilson and Barker shutout visiting Roy-Hart by the identical score of 4-0.

Iyla Lilleby and Penelope Schalck both scored a pair of goals to lead the way for Medina.

Barker took command at the outset jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes on goals by Ella Taylor, Madelina Pavlock and Rachel Sutter. Pavlock also scored the Bulldogs final goal in the third quarter.

Wilson and Roy-Hart both finish the N-O season at 5-7.

The Section VI seeding meeting is scheduled for Thursday and a coin flip will likely be necessary between Barker and Medina to determine the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds for the Class C playoffs.

Final N-O Standings: Akron 12-0, Barker 9-3, Medina 9-3, Roy-Hart 5-7, Wilson 5-7, Newfane 2-10, Kenmore 0-12.
