Medina and Albion netters post N-O wins
Medina defeated Barker 4 1/2-1 this afternoon to improve to 6-2 in Niagara-Orleans League tennis competition.
Andrew Fuller won at first singles and Ray Paull at second to set the pace for Medina.
The Mustangs also got doubles wins from the teams of Kody Leno-Andrew Houseman, Haylee Seefeldt-Jacob Houseman and Mark Barcena-Ben Zakes.
Jake Harris won at third singles for Barker which is now 0-10.
Albion 3, Wilson 2 1/2
Albion boosted its N-O tennis record to 7-3 by edging Wilson 3-2 1/2.
Matthew Kovaleski won at first singles and Victor Benjovsky at second singles for Albion which also got a key first doubles victory from the duo of Nate Smith and Chase Froman.
Akron 3, Newfane 2 1/2
Akron state perfect at 9-0 by trimming Newfane 3-2 1/2 on singles wins by Nate and Will Chubb and a doubles victory by the team of Maggie Leeds and Harry Fitzgerald.
Holley 4, Alexander 1
Wins at the first two singles spots by Aaron Strathean and Cheyan Palmer led Holley to a 4-1 Genesee Region League victory over Alexander.
The Hawks also got wins from the doubles teams of Dalton Thurley-Steven Morgan and Jake Peters-Austin Berns.
Golf
Kendall 285, Pembroke 289
Callahan Speer shot a 47 and Jacob Esposito a 48 to lead Kendall to a narrow 285-289 G-R golf win over Pembroke.
