Medina and Albion girls score N-O wins; Newfane clinches at least a tie for the title
Medina nipped visiting Barker 50-47 and Albion downed host Roy-Hart 51-36 in Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball action this evening.
In the other game, Newfane clinched at least a tie for the N-O title by topping Akron 54-41 to finish the league campaign at 10-2. Defending champion Wilson (9-2) can earn a share of the title by posting a home court win over Medina on Thursday.
Alexa Demmer poured in a game high 29 points to lead the way for Medina as Ariel Smith and Sam Heschke both added 7, Tatianna Maxon 5 and Cassidy Janas 2.
Elissa Monaco scored 24 and Jordyn Kinne 14 to lead Barker as Hailey Dodge added 7 and Rachel Samson and Arnie Sturtevant 1 each.
Kenzi Snook and Cami London both scored 15 and Julia Knight 9 to lead the way for Albion as Paige Newton anchored the defense.
Courtney Aquilina scored 16, Adella Dukes 8 and Millie Owens 5 for Roy-Hart.
Anna Chunco scored 18 and Kameryn Boyer 13 to spark Newfane which led 30-12 at the half.
