Medina and Albion begin sectionals Friday

Medina will open at home and Albion on the road when Section VI football playoff action gets underway on Friday.

The Mustangs are seeded No. 1 in Class C and the Purple Eagles No. 6 in Class B.

Defending champion Medina will host No. 8 Eden in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. on Friday. The victor will advance to a semifinal round meeting with the winner of the No. 5 Fredonia vs. No. 4 Depew quarterfinal. This will be the third straight year that the Mustangs have hosted the Raiders in the sectionals.

Albion will visit No. 3 Pioneer at 7 p.m. on Friday in a rematch of a regular season interdivisional contest which saw the Purple Eagles defeat the host Panthers 22-16. The winner will advance to a semifinal round meeting with the winner of the No. 7 Burgard vs. No. 2 Maryvale quarterfinal contest.
