Medina, Albion swimmers earn splits

Medina split with host Akron this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet.

Medina won the boys meet 99-67 and Akron took the girls competition 114-58.

Chase Pecoraro was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Mason Pecoraro in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke for the Medina boys squad which also had Daniel Heil win the 100 Freestyle.

Medina is now 4-3 and Akron 0-6.

Emma Gardner doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly and Hannah Heil took the 100 Free for Medina.

Akron improves to 5-1 while Medina slips to 1-6.

Albion, Barker split

Albion defeated Barker 50-44 in the boys meet as Harrison Brown won the 200 Free, Bailey Maier the 100 Back and Matt Kovaleski the 100 Breaststroke.

Andrew Jenks doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Free and Collin Webb in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Barker.

Albion is now 4-3 and Barker 2-4.

Barker won the girls competition 69-25 as Christiana Carestia doubled in the 200 and 500 Free.

Elizaberh Furmanski took both the Individual Medley and 100 Free for Albion.

Barker is now 4-2 and Albion 0-7.

Roy-Hart splits with Newfane

Roy-Hart defeated Newfane 99-70 in the boys meet to stay perfect at 7-0.

The Newfane girls likewise stayed unbeaten at 7-0 with a 113-56 win over Roy-Hart.

Thomas Schultz doubled in the 200 and 500 Free and Andrew Hamelink in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke for the Newfane boys.

The Newfane girls had a trio of double winners as Allie DeBiase won the Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke, Lydia Gaughran the 100 Butterfly and 500 Free and Meghan Mietlicki the 50 and 100 Free.
