Medina, Albion netters post wins

Medina defeated host Barker and Albion bested visiting Roy-Hart by the identical score of 4.5-1 this afternoon in Niagara-Orleans League tennis action.

Ben Howell defeated Sean Benoit 6-3, 6-2 at first singles and Kristian Snyder downed Tristan Payne 7-5, 6-1 at second singles to lead the way for Medina.

The Mustangs also swept the three doubles matches. In those matches Brian Bogan and Tristan Sanders defeated Erik and Kyle Herian 6-2, 6-2; Carson Zygoda and Nick Dieter rallied past Zach Pisarski and Emma Duffy 3-6, 6-1, 6-1; and Tom Horgan and Austin Owens rallied to edge Luz and Patricia Bautista 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Barker took the third singles match as Brian Hefferon downed Addy Zavitz 6-0, 6-0.

Medina is now 2-0 and Barker 3-2.


Albion scored a sweep of the three singles matches as Andrew Burroughs defeated Adam Clause 6-1, 6-0; Dyer Benjovsky downed William Johnson 6-0, 6-0 and Josh Metzler bested Mitch Light 6-0, 6-1.

Albion also took the first doubles match as Ben Kirby and Chris Tabor downed Elliott Spitzer and David Turrel 6-0, 6-4 and the third doubles match as Dan Beam and Zach Scanlon topped Victoria Benner and Kelsey Eldridge 6-4, 6-1.

Roy-Hart took the second doubles as Melanie Mikits and Quinn Moreland outlasted past Monica Benjovsky and Michael Stilwell 6-4, 6-7, 7-5.

Albion improves to 3-1 and Roy-Hart slips to 0-5.

In Genesee Region League action, Wheatland-Chili defeated Holley 4-1 to improve to 5-1.

Corey Winter won at first singles for Holley which is now at 5-2.
