Medina, Albion girls post home court wins
Medina and Albion both scored home court Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball victories this evening. The Mustangs downed Roy-Hart 49-39 and the Purple Eagles bested Newfane 44-38.
Rylee VanNostrand scored a game high 29 points and Stella Poler added 14 to lead the way for Medina which led 19-17 at the half and 35-27 after three quarters.
Alexis Cacciatore scored 12 and Juliana Buscarino and Lila Brigham both netted 8 for Roy-Hart.
Medina is now 1-3 and Roy-Hart 1-4 in N-O action.
Madison Hughson scored 19, Skoi Sanders Smith 8 and Madison Lebaron 6 for Albion.
Anna Chunco scored 19 and Sienna Bowers 16 for Newfane.
Albion is now 4-1 and Newfane 1-3.
In the other N-O contest, defending champion Wilson jumped out to leads of 18-6 after one period and 26-8 at the half in route to posting a 58-34 win over Akron to stay undefeated at 4-0 in N-O competition.
