Medina 12U lacrosse team gets first win

Medina’s U12 team earned its first Western New York Summer Lacrosse League victory of the young season by defeating visiting Lockport 12-1 on Thursday.

Christian Silversmith scored three goals and Bobby Geiger and Rhett Wagner both netted two to lead the attack for Medina which is now 1-1. Carson Dusett, Gavin Eaton and Tim Roy each chipped in with one goal.

Medina’s 10U team lost 15-3 at Wilson. Zaric Boyce, Jacob McEwen and Robert Morehouse each scored a goal for Medina.

Medina’s 14U squad lost 10-5 to visiting Niagara-Wheatfield. Kaleb Uptegrove scored three goals and Zach Blount two for Medina.

League play continues on Tuesday with Medina’s 10U hosting Lockport at 6:15, U12 hosting Lancaster at 7:30 p.m. and U14 at Lancaster at 7:30 p.m.

Baseball – Midget B

Roy-Hart 1 dropped a 7-0 decision at Lockport Friday evening in a Lockport Midget ‘B’ League game. Matt Maines had a double for Roy-Hart which is now 2-1.
