Medina 10U Fillies earn first win
The Medina 10U Fillies posted their first win of the season by defeating the visiting North Buffalo Wildcats 13-3 on Tuesday.
Faith Oberther registered a total of 14 strikeouts in the circle for the Fillies.
Bonnie DiCureia had three singles and a double, Ryan Olles two singles and a double, Iyanna King a double and triple, Oberther a single and triple and Baileigh McAdoo two singles to spark the Fillies at the plate.
The Wildcats scored two quick runs in the top of the first inning but the Fillies answered right back with three runs in the home half of the frame to take the lead for good on singles by DiCureia and Carpenter, a double by King and a sacrifice by Brianna Smith.
Oberther then blanked the Wildcats on three strikeouts in the top of the second and the Fillies offense kept the momentum by scoring four times in the bottom of the frame. King had a triple, DiCureia a double and McAdoo and Olles singles during that uprising.
The Fillies boosted their lead to 11-3 by scoring four runs in the third inning on singles by Oberther, Daci Doward, DiCcureia and a double by Olles.
The Fillies next host Clarence at 6:30 this evening at Butts Park.
