Press Release, Nate McMurray for Congress

HAMBURG — Nate McMurray, Democratic candidate for the 27th Congressional District, has been endorsed by U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins and State Senator Tim Kennedy.

“I am proud to once again offer my endorsement to Nate McMurray in the special election to fill the NY-27 congressional seat,” Higgins said. “As a local leader, Nate has worked in a bipartisan fashion to bring much needed changes to his town and its government. Nate is tenacious and persistent, and will undoubtedly be a dogged advocate for Western New Yorkers. As a member of Congress, Nate will join me in working to deliver real results for the people of Western New York.”

“We need another voice in Washington that truly reflects the values and priorities of the hardworking families in Western New York,” Kennedy said. “Nate McMurray isn’t afraid to work hard or stand up for what’s right. I’m proud to stand with him, and I hope you will too.”

McMurray has the endorsement of the Democratic and Working Families parties in an upcoming special election, likely April 28.

“I’m honored to receive the backing of Rep. Higgins and New York Senator Tim Kennedy, two Democratic legislators I greatly respect,” McMurray said. “We have a lot of work to do, from making healthcare affordable to all Americans to improving what is one of the worst job markets in the country. But I know with the support of representatives like Senator Kennedy and Representative Higgins, we can start to make real improvements in the lives of people in NY-27.”

Editor’s Note: For the special election the Republican Party has endorsed State Sen. Chris Jacobs of Buffalo and the Libertarian Party is backing Duane Whitmer, an accountant from Hamburg.
