Martha DePeters of Albion celebrates 100th birthday
Information provided by the DePeters family
ALBION – On July 29th, four generations of family and close friends gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday of Martha (Saeva) DePeters.
Martha was born and raised in Albion, one of seven children of the late Pasquale and Antoinette (Barber) Saeva and has lived here all her life. She is a member of Holy Family Parish.
Martha graduated from Albion Central High School and at the age of 40 attended night school at the Culver Beauty Academy in Rochester. Upon receipt of her license, she opened Martha’s Beauty Salon in her home and worked as a beautician until her retirement at the age of 90.
Martha and her beloved late husband, Lou, enjoyed summer vacations with their children and Sunday rides to anywhere. After her children left home, Martha and Lou continued their regular outings together.
Since Martha is known to be a “world-class shopper,” those outings usually involved a visit to a mall. Martha and Lou also travelled to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Nashville, Georgia, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Florida and every gift shop along the way!
Martha’s family is grateful to be able to celebrate this milestone with her.
