Maritime tops Mustangs for first win

First year team Maritime/Health Sciences earned its first ever victory by downing visiting Medina/Lyndonville/Barker 42-22 this afternoon in an interdivisional game.

The Mustangs did jump out to an early 7-0 lead but Maritime returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and the host school was off and rolling.

Maritime led 16-7 after one quarter and 22-7 at the half.

Mustangs quarterback Izaiah Rhim hooked up with Brian Fry for two touchdown passes covering 3 and 12 yards. Fry had a total of 13 catches for 173 yards.

William Braswell scored the Mustangs other touchdown on a 6 yard run.

Now at 3-2 overall, Medina/Lyndonville/Barker next visits Lackawanna next Saturday in a key B2 Division contest.
