Maritime bests Albion to grab B North lead

Scoring in every quarter, Maritime rolled to a 38-8 victory over visiting Albion this morning to take over the B North Division lead.

Maritime is now 5-0 an Albion 4-1 in B North competition.

Maritime jumped out to a 16-0 lead in a penalty filled first half on a 6 yard touchdown run by Damion Littleton and a 31 yard TD pass from quarterback Montrice Webster to Addison Copeland.

The Falcons lead soared to 30-0 on a 10 yard TD pass from Webster to Jameer Thomas in the third quarter and a 5 yard scoring run by Marques Miller in the final period.

Albion’s lone touchdown came on a 48 yard pass from quarterback Amari Jones to Javon Jones with 8:15 to go in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons though answered right back with a short TD run by Nyjuan Littlejohn and a two-point conversion  to boost the advantage to 38-8.

The Purple Eagles defense had two turnovers, a pass interception by Javon Jones and a fumble recovery by Ellwood Hafner.

Maritime will close out the regular season with a B North game at Lew-Port and Albion will wind up with an interdivisional game at rival Medina, both Friday evening.
