LYNDONVILLE – A Lyndonville woman was killed in an accident Friday morning on Route 104.

Cristal M. Nunez-Rexach, 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene, State Police said today.

Troopers responded at 10:31 a.m. to Route 104 and Kenyonville Road in the town of Gaines for a multiple vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer.

Further investigation revealed that a 2008 Jeep Liberty was traveling southbound on Kenyonville Road and failed to yield the right of way at the intersection controlled by a stop sign, State Police said.

A 1999 Peterbilt tractor trailer, traveling west bound on State Route 104, struck the Jeep in the intersection and a third vehicle attempted to avoid the collision and struck a culvert, troopers said.

Nunez-Rexach’s was the operator of the Jeep. The driver of the Peterbilt was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation, which is ongoing.
