Lyndonville wins, Medina bows in Midget ‘A’ League action

Lyndonville regained sole possession of the Lockport Midget ‘A’ League lead by defeating host Lockport 1 10-3 this evening while Medina was upended 8-4 by visiting Lockport 2 at Vets Park.
Lyndonville improves to 4-1 while Medina slips to 3-2.
The other Midget ‘A’ contest saw Akron edged Roy-Hart 4-2.
Lyndonville 10, Lockport 1 3
Breaking away from a scoreless deadlock, Lyndonville erupted for seven runs in the second inning to take control against Lockport 1.
A two-run double by Trevor Bentley and a two-run single by Michael Wells highlighted that decisive uprising. Evan Milleville and Ty Hrovat also both had RBI singles and Dominic DiCureia a run producing sacrifice fly to round out the frame’s scoring. AJ Buckland also chipped in with a single to help keep the uprising going.
Lyndonville later scored once in the fifth on a double by Milleville and twice in the seventh on a double by Hrovat and an error.
Buckland and Hrovat both finished with two hits.
Austin Loyd picked up the win on the mound allowing three hits and striking out 12.
Lyndonville next visits Akron on Thursday.
Lockport 2 8, Medina 4
Unable to build on a four run first inning lead, Medina dropped an 8-4 decision to Lockport 2 this evening at Vets Park in a Lockport Midget ‘A’ League game.
A run producing double by Quentin Adkins and an RBI sacrifice fly by Tyler Ames highlighted the big first inning for Medina which was unable to manage any more hits or runs the rest of the way.
Lockport tied the game with four runs in the third inning and then broke the deadlock with four runs in the top of the seventh.
Medina did get the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh on three walks but was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
Akron 4, Roy-Hart 2
John O’Brien and Aaron Metz each had two hits for Roy-Hart in the 4-2 loss to visiting Akron.
Akron used a three run fourth inning to key the win.
The loss drops Roy-Hart to 2-3.
