Lyndonville will host sectional diamond twin bill on Friday
Section V playoff action resumes Friday and Lyndonville will be hosting a baseball, softball doubleheader.
On the baseball diamond, No. 2 seed Lyndonville will host No. 7 Fillmore at 4 p.m. in a Class DD quarterfinal game. Fillmore downed No. 10 Hammondsport in the opening round. Lyndonville brings a 13-5 record into the playoffs.
The No. 3 seeded Lyndonville girls softball squad will host No. 6 Avoca at 4:30 p.m. in a Class D1 quarterfinal. Avoca ousted No. 11 Jasper-Troupsburg in the opening round. The Lady Tigers are 13-4 on the season.
Also on the Section V baseball diamonds, No. 2 Holley will host No. 7 Canisteo at 4:30 p.m. Friday in a Class CC quarterfinal. Holley trimmed No. 15 Bloomfield 3-1 in the opening round on Wednesday while Canisteo routed No. 10 South Seneca 16-1. Holley is now at 15-4 on the season.
Section VI baseball playoff action gets underway on Friday as No. 10 Albion visits No. 7 Maryvale and No. 9 Newfane travels to No. 8 Eden in Class B1; No. 10 Wilson is at No. 7 Falconer in Class B2 and No. 8 Barker hosts No. 9 Cassadaga Valley in Class C, all at 5 p.m.
