Lyndonville tops Pembroke in G-R softball; Barker downs Roy-Hart in N-O contest
A pair of early inning three run scoring bursts sparked Lyndonville to an 8-1 win over host Pembroke in a Genesee Region League softball game this afternoon.
Lyndonville scored three quick runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Brooke Robinson and a two-run error and then three more in the third two of which came home on hit batters.
Lorelei Dillenbeck capped off the Lady Tigers win by belting a two-run homer in the fifth frame.
Brianna Smith had 3 hits on the day for Lyndonville which imroves to 5-2 in the league and 7-2 overall.
Wilson 11, Medina 8
Wilson edged visiting Medina 11-8 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Rylee VanNostrand had 4 hits and Alayna Smith 3 for Medina, VanNostrand’s hits included a pair of doubles as Smith, Baileigh McAdoo and Eva Lacy each had one.
The Newfane vs. Albion game was postponed due to wet grounds.
Barker 8, Roy-Hart 6
Barker improved to 5-1 in N-O competition with an 8-6 win over Roy-Hart.
Peyton Bradley registered 13 strikeouts in the circle for Barker.
At the plate for the Lady Raiders, Anna Bowerman had 3 hits, Lilly Monthony and Cole Carnes 2 and Mia Herman, Kaylee Stoll, Natalie Brandel, Rachel Sutter and Aaliyah Wheat 1 each. Bowerman’s hits included a double and triple.
Hayley Hillburn had 2 doubles for Roy-Hart which slips to 2-3.
