Lyndonville tops Albion in Midget ‘B’ League season opener

Lyndonville opened the Lockport Midget ‘B’ League season on a high note Monday evening with a 7-2 victory over host Albion.

Zach Johnson and Cory Hydock shared in earning the win on the mound for Lyndonville. Johnson struck out 5 in three innings and Hydock 3 in four frames.

Johnson, Kane Flynn and Nolan Donald all drove in runs. Johnson had two hits.

Lyndonville scored three quick runs in the first inning and later added one in each of the last four frames.

Albion pitcher Nate Moore registered 6 strikeouts in four innings of work.

Lyndonville next hosts Medina at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Monday’s other scheduled opener which had Somerset at Medina was postponed.

Lockport Midget ‘A’ League action is slated to begin at 6 this evening with Medina at Albion, Lyndonville at Akron and Lockport at Roy-Hart.
