Lyndonville tops Akron in season finale

Closing out the season on a high note, Lyndonville defeated visiting Akron 66-45 this evening in a non league boys basketball season.
Nathan Dillenbeck scored a game high 26 points, Russell Stephens 18 and Casey Winiecki 13 to lead the Lyndonville attack as Anthony Moule added 6, Noah Poler 2 and Owen Mank 1.
David Kalinowski scored 14, Jake Mazza 8 and Trvis Fry 7 to pace Akron.
Lyndonville jumped out to a 16-6 first quarter lead as Dillenbeck scored 8, including a three and a three-point play.
The Tigers doubled their advantage to 20, 36-16, at the half as Dillenbeck netted 9, Winiecki 6 and Stephens 4 in the second period.
Moule then hit two threes and Winiecki one in the third period to help keep Lyndonville up by 21, 54-33, as Stephens and Dillenbeck each chipped in with a pair of baskets.
Stephens then tallied 7, including a three, and Dillenbeck 5, including a three, down the stretch for Lyndonville which finishes the season at 8-5.
Akron returns to Niagara-Orleans League action on Saturday at Roy-Hart. The Tigers are 6-3 and the Rams 3-6 in league action.
