Lyndonville to host Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Saturday

Contributed Photo – Lyndonville wrestling team captains Rodney Davis, Mario Fidanza and Brennon Munn and their Tiger teammates will host the second annual Fred Large Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

Over a dozen teams will be competing at Lyndonville’s second annual Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.

The tourney honors the memory of Fred Large who organized the Lyndonville wrestling program in the mid 1960’s and guided the Tigers to a number of Genesee Region League and Section V championships.

In addition to the host Tigers, the tournament field will include Holley-Kendall, Medina, Akron, Brighton, Byron-Bergen, CSAT,  East Rochester, Gilead, Livonia-Wayland-Cohocton, Pavilion/York, Pioneer, Williamson and Wilson.

Tournament competition in both Varsity and JV divisions is scheduled to begin at 9:30 with three mats being used in both gyms.
