Lyndonville takes two from Akron in Midget ‘A’ action

Front-running Lyndonville swept to a doubleheader victory over Akron Friday by scores of 12-2 and 6-2 to improve to 8-1 in Lockport Midget ‘A’ League action.

Leading 2-0, Lyndonville broke the first game open by scoring 5 runs in the second inning on a two-run double by Jacob Hoffee, an RBI double by AJ Buckland and run producing singles by Trevor Bentley and Michael Wells.

Bentley had a total of 3 hits as Hoffee and Michael Wells both had 2. Brandon Schoolcraft, and Eddie Schildt both added doubles.

Hoffee picked up the win on the mound scattering 4 hits and striking out 5.

In the second game, Lyndonville used a 3 run second inning to key the win as Bentley, Buckland and Hoffee all had singles. All three players had 2 hits in the contest.

Hoffee also had an RBI triple in the fourth inning.

Lyndonville next faces Roy-Hart at 6 this evening at Gasport in a make-up game before visiting Medina on Tuesday.
