Lyndonville sweeps softball doubleheader

Lyndonvillle first baseman Gracie Johnson stetches to get the out on Elba’s Carolyn Sybertz during the host Lady Tigers doubleheader sweep today.

Improving to 5-0, Lyndonville scored a home field softball doubleheader sweep today first romping past Wilson 27-10 in a non league game and then downing Elba 7-1 in a Genesee Region League contest.

In the opener against Wilson, Lorelei Dillenbeck had two doubles and a single, Addy Dillenbeck a triple and single, Brooke Robinson and Gracie Johnson a double and single and Ella Lewis a double to lead Lyndonville at the plate.

Robinson drove in 3 runs as Johnson and Lorelei Dillenbeck both plated 2.

In the league contest against Elba, Lyndonville took the lead for good by scoring four quick runs in the first inning on a double by Haley Shaffer and singles by Johnson, Addy Dillenbeck and Lewis.

Addy Dillenbeck and Lewis later both had RBI doubles in the sixth inning.

Addy Dillenbeck finished with 3 hits as Johnson and Lewis both had 2.

Lyndonville next hosts Byron-Bergen at 5 p.m. Monday in a G-R contest.
