Lyndonville spikers outlast Kendall

Rallying from an early two set deficit, Lyndonville battled back to edge past host Kendall in a marathon five set Genesee Region League volleyball match this evening 18-25, 22-25, 28-26, 25-23, 25-23.

Alecia Hinkson had 9 kills, 5 aces, 2 blocks and 15 digs, Natalie Ostrowski 9 assists and 8 digs, Carlie Russo 6 kills and Hannah Despard 6 aces and 20 digs to lead the way for Lyndonville which used an overtime 28-26 win in the third set to get back in the match.

Jenna Regan had 15 kills and 7 digs, Sunni Brice 17 digs and 12 assists and Jessia Coble 2 kills and 18 digs for Kendall.

Medina 25-25-25, Tapestry 16-16-21.
Medina scored a straight set 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 non league victory over visiting Tapestry as Divere Brown had 6 aces and 10 assists, Je’ne Brown 6 kills, Kharsie Johnson 7 aces and 5 assists, Breanna Islam 5 kills and 3 aces, Camri King 4 kills and Faith Henning 3 aces.

Byron-Bergen 23-25-25-25, Attica 25-19-10-20

Undefeated (13-0, 16-0) Byron-Bergen downed Attica (10-3, 11-6) in four sets in another G-R match as Lauren Burke had 12 aces and 10 kills and Quinn Chapell 6 aces and 2 kills. Hailey Hardie had 3 kills and 2 aces for Attica.

Boys Sectional Soccer
The Niagara-Orleans League went 1-3 today in Section VI boys soccer playoff action.

N-O champion No. 2 seed Newfane romped past No. 7 Oracle 8-1 in a B-! quarterfinal as Jarrett Gilson had 3 goals, Trevor Moreland 2 goals and 4 assists, Max Weber 1 goal and 3 assists, Mateo May 1 goal and 1 assist and Nick Connolly 1 goal. The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 11 minutes.

In Class B-2, No. 4 Olmsted outlasted No. 5 Roy-Hart 6-4, No. 6 Riverside upended No. 3 Wilson 1-0 and No. 2 Southwestern blanked No. 10 Akron 6-0.

Jamasen Johnson and Noah Kindron each scored a pair of goals and Aidan Bligh had 2 assists for Roy-Hart which trailed by a narrow 2-1 margin at the half but could not pull even.
