Lyndonville rolls past W-C; Holley sweeps B-B

Erupting for six runs in the second inning, Lyndonville went on to defeat host Wheatland-Chili 16-0 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

A three-run double by Jacob Hoffee and a two-run single by Zach Johnson highlighted the big second inning for Lyndonville which improves to 8-1 in the league and 12-1 overall.

The Tigers later locked up the win by scoring four times in both the fourth and fifth innings.  Johnson and Mike Wells both had two-run singles in the fourth.

Johnson finished with a total of 4 hits, Hoffee 3 and Wells and Eric Neace 2.

Cullen Heveron picked up the win on the mound allowing 2 hits with 7 strikeouts in 4 innings of work on the mound.

Holley sweeps B-B

Holley swept to a doubleheader victory over host Byron-Bergen by scores of 6-3 and 2-0.

A 5 run second inning highlighted by a two-run single by Ryan Andrews and an RBI single by Collin Papaj keyed Holley to a win in the opener.

Patrick Bower then hurled a 4 hit shutout with 7 strikeouts in the second game.

An RBI single by Andrews in the first inning proved to be just enough offense for Holley which is now 6-6 on the season.
