Lyndonville romps in non league tilt

Getting back onto the winning track, Lyndonville romped to a 17-3 victory over CG Finney this afternoon in a non league baseball game.

Ty Hrovat, Brandon Schoolcraft, Michael Wells and winning pitcher Eddie Schildt each had 2 hits for Lyndonville which rebounded from a narrow 4-3 loss to Notre Dame on Thursday.

Hrovat and Schoolcraft both drove in a total of 4 runs as Wells and Schildt each plated 2.

The Tigers took charge early scoring 3 times in both the first and second innings.

Schildt went the distance on the mound allowing 4 hits and striking out 9.

Lyndonville is now 3-2.

In another non league contest, Oakfield-Alabama scored two runs in the seventh inning to edge past visiting Roy-Hart 3-1.

Al Xapsos drove in Roy-Hart’s lone run.

Newfane 19, Wilson 6

Leading 10-6, Newfane erupted for nine runs in the seventh inning to lock up a 19-6 Niagara-Orleans League win over rival Wilson.

Ryan Gmerek had 4 hits for Newfane as Jake Nicholas added 2 hits, Zach LaJoie a 2 run double and Trevor Noon a double and 3 RBIs.

Newfane is now 3- 0 and Wilson 0-4.

The Albion at CSAT N-O contest was postponed due to wet grounds.
