Lyndonville rolls to win over Byron-Bergen
Sparked by a big second inning scoring burst, Lyndonville went on to down Byron-Bergen 15-1 in a Genesee Region League baseball game this afternoon.
The Tigers took charge by scoring 7 times in the second inning highlighted by a two-run double by Shannon Withey, a two-run single by Shawn Robertson and an RBI single by Landon Markidis.
Lyndonville then put a lock on the win by tallying four times in both the fourth and fifth innings. Robertson and Markidis both had RBI singles and winning pitcher Quincey McClinsey a two-run sacrifice fly in the fourth. Markidis also had an RBI double in the fifth.
Robertson finished with 4 hits, Markidis 3 and Withey and Austin Fonda 2 each.
On the mound, McClinsey allowed only 2 hits and struck out 4.
Making it 4 wins in the last 5 games, Lyndonville improves to 6-8.
