Lyndonville rallies past Attica

Lyndonville rallied to nip visiting Attica 4-3 this afternoon to improve to 5-2 in Genesee Region League action.

Trailing 3-1, Lyndonville pulled even by scoring twice in the third inning on RBI singles by Dawson Joy and Cody Bentley who both had a pair of hits on the day. Two walks set up the threat.

The Tigers then scored the game winner in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Joy as singles by Eric Neace and Michael Wells set up the opportunity.

Attica had grabbed the early lead by scoring once in the first and twice in the second.

The Lyndonville defense got out of both jams by throwing a runner out at home plate, the first going from Zach Johnson in left to Wells at third to Corey Hydock at catcher and the second from Jacob Hoffee at shortstop to Hydock.

Hoffee also made a key stop and throw for the final of in the sixth inning as Attica left two runners stranded.

Now at 9-3 overall, Lyndonville next hosts CG Finney at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in a non league game.
