Lyndonville nips Akron in Midget ‘A’

Lyndonville edged past visiting Akron 1-0 Friday evening to improve to 2-0 in Lockport Midget ‘A’ League action.

Ty Hrovat hurled a two hit shutout with six strikeouts for Lyndonville which also got a strong game defensively from Justin Edwards in centerfield.

Lyndonville scored the game’s only run in the fourth inning as AJ Buckland singled and came home on a sacrifice fly by Austin Loyd.

Brandon Schoolcraft, Eddy Schlidt and Michael Wells also all had hits for Lyndonville which next hosts Lockport 2 at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Midget ‘B’

Lockport 10 Roy-Hart 2 6

Justin Hechke had two hits for Roy-hart 2 in the 10-6 Midget ‘B’ League loss to visiting Lockport Friday evening.

Brendon Hess and Eric Fitch also had singles for Roy-Hart 2.
