Lyndonville matmen top Kendall

Each team captured four bouts that were decided on the mat but a five to one advantage in forfeit wins earned Lyndonville a 52-27 victory over host Kendall this morning in a Genesee Region League make-up match.

Lyndonville jumped out to a commanding 40-0 lead at the outset on a second period pin by Chris McDonald (126) and a major decision win by Jeff Gress Jr. (99) along with five forfeit victories good for a total of 30 points.

The Tigers advantage ballooned to 52-3 after a quick 29 second pin by Devon Joy (152) followed by a first period fall by Tom Follman (160) in just 1:14.

Kendall’s only points during those first 10 bouts came on a decision win by Mason ReQua (145).

However, the Eagles finished strong with three first period pins registered by Mark Washington (182) in 59 seconds, by Adam Washington in only 30 seconds and by Mike Raschke in just 1:56.
