Stephan Goetze of Lyndonville is among the new class of state troopers. Goetze is a member of a class of 208 who graduated last week.

Goetze will work out of Troop B in northern New York.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo praised the new group of state troopers.

“I commend these fine men and women for answering the call and committing to protect their communities and their fellow New Yorkers as members of the New York State Police,” said Governor Cuomo. “These new troopers have dedicated themselves to public service and together, we will continue to make this great state a safer place to live, work, and travel.”

The graduation ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Hall in Albany. The new troopers reported for field duty on Monday. For 10 weeks, the new troopers will be evaluated under a field-training program supervised by senior Field Training Officers.
