Lyndonville, Kendall score diamond wins
Lyndonville nipped Byron-Bergen 7-6 and Kendall upended Oakfield-Alabama 10-6 in Genesee Region League baseball contests this afternoon.
Lyndonville erupted for five quick runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Rolland Balcerzak, an RBI double by Casey Winiecki and RBI singles by Noah Heinsler and Oskar Heinsler.
However, the game winner didn’t come until the sixth inning for the Tigers as Nathan Dillenbeck singled and came home on a triple by Zach Johnson.
Dillenbeck had a total of 3 hits as Winiecki and Oskar Heinsler both had 2.
Byron-Bergen scored once in the seventh and still had a runner on third before the Tigers closed out the win on a strikeout by Balcerzak.
Lyndonville is now 9-0 in the league and 10-0 overall.
Kendall 10, Oakfield-Alabama 6
Trailing 6-5, Kendall rallied for three runs in the fourth inning on two walks and a rash of errors and two more in the fifth as Mason Kuhn had a big double to key the win over Oakfield-Alabama.
Kuhn, Hunter Menze, Brian Shaw, Mickey Gardner and Emmett Blosenhauer each had a pair of hits for the Eagles.
Kuhn pitched the first five innings and Gardner hurled the final two.
Pembroke defeated Holley 20-1 and Wheatland-Chili downed Kenda11 8-5 in G-R softball action this afternoon.
